Dr. Pradeep Tyle Award Instituted at NIT Srinagar to Honour Excellence Across Disciplines

Srinagar, Sep 16 (KNS): NIT Srinagar is proud to announce the institution of the Dr. Pradeep Tyle Award, a prestigious new honour to be conferred annually during the Alumni Academic Assembly (AAA), scheduled for 10th–11th October 2025. The award has been made possible through a generous contribution of ?4.00 Lakhs by distinguished alumnus Dr. Pradeep Tyle, from the 1982 Chemical Engineering batch of the then REC Srinagar.

Dr. Tyle’s thoughtful endowment will support awards across all major engineering disciplines of the Institute. These will recognize students demonstrating academic brilliance, innovation, and leadership potential, embodying the spirit of a true engineer. This initiative aims not only to reward merit but also to motivate and empower the student community, reinforcing a deep connection between alumni and their alma mater.

In his remarkable four-decade global career, Dr. Tyle has emerged as a visionary in the Flexible Packaging Industry, holding leadership roles such as Group President – Films Business at UFLEX, and currently serving as Founder of PTA Advisors LLP, advising multinational corporations on strategy and innovation. He has been the recipient of several international honours, including the Golden Heather Award (2014), Outstanding 50 Asian Americans in Business Award (2015), and recognition for Excellence in Business Leadership (2016) by the World Confederation of Businesses.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Dr. Tyle’s philanthropic efforts, led by the Tyle Family Foundation, have supported hundreds of underprivileged students, promoted girl-child education, and established educational infrastructure such as libraries and computer centres. The foundation partners with reputed organizations like BAPS, ISKCON, and Arya Samaj to further humanitarian and educational causes.

With this award, Dr. Tyle sends a powerful message to current and future students—that excellence deserves to be celebrated and that success, when paired with gratitude, can build legacies. His gift is a testament to the transformative power of education and the enduring bond between alumni and their institution.
