Kulgam, July 31(KNS): The prolonged dry spell and intense heatwave have led to a gastroenteritis outbreak in various areas of South Kashmir's Kulgam district.
Despite the outbreak, the situation is under control, with no patients currently hospitalized.
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Kulgam, Dr. Saba Wani, explained that gastroenteritis, commonly known as stomach flu, is an infection of the digestive system characterized by symptoms such as diarrhea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and occasionally fever.
