Srinagar,November 16 (KNS): While expressing serious concern over the precarious power situation, CPI(M) Secretary Ghulam Nabi Malik on Tuesday said the electricity woes continue unabated in Kashmir valley.
During summers, due to power woes people in Jammu suffer and in winters people in Kashmir valley have to bear the brunt of power crisis. The government must provide uninterrupted power supply to people this winter.

People living in rural areas are compelled to arrange for alternate sources of illumination since they are facing the worst power crisis. The people in cities and towns had to face low voltage and erratic power supply.
Referring to the installation of Smart Meters, he said that the consumers are aggrieved and cannot afford inflated bills generated by these Smart Meters. Despite resentment, the administration is going ahead with the move. We need adequate electricity but not meters only.(KNS)
