Gulmarg, Nov 15(KNS): The Gulmarg constituency is set to get a dedicated Fruit Mandi, aimed at supporting local fruit growers and improving the horticulture sector.

The initiative is being facilitated by the efforts of MLA Gulmarg, Farooq Ahmad Shah, who has held discussions with the Minister for Horticulture and Agriculture, as well as the Horticulture Production and Marketing Department.

A proposal for the project has been submitted, and work is expected to begin soon. The Fruit Mandi will serve as a centralized facility for storing, marketing, and selling fruits, providing local growers with better market access and fairer prices. MLA Farooq Ahmad Shah stated that horticulture holds significant potential in the constituency and that the new mandi will enhance market opportunities for farmers while benefiting the local economy.
