General Secretary J&K Peoples Conference and President AJKSA Reacts to CM’s “Signature Campaign” Promise

Srinagar, October 9 (KNS) : The General Secretary of the Jammu & Kashmir Peoples Conference and President of the All JK Shia Association today took a jibe at the Chief Minister over his unfulfilled promise of a “mass signature campaign” in support of restoring statehood to Jammu & Kashmir.

Referring to the CM’s Independence Day speech earlier this year, he said, “In his grand Independence Day address, our CM Sahib had made quite a dramatic announcement, remember? He promised that his party would collect lakhs of signatures within eight weeks, all in support of restoring statehood, and proudly march them to the Supreme Court before the October 10 hearing. Big talk, big promises , typical JKNC style!”

He added that the promise now seems to have evaporated as the Supreme Court hearing draws near. “Here we are, on the eve of October 10. The case is listed before the Supreme Court tomorrow.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut where’s that famous signature campaign that was supposed to shake Delhi? Did those lakhs of signatures get lost somewhere between Gupkar and Twitter?”

Taking a dig at the CM’s Delhi visit, he said, “Interestingly, CM Sahib is in Delhi today. So naturally, one wonders has he gone to submit those lakhs of signatures his government collected, or just to collect a few more photos for his next social media post?”

He further remarked that such hollow promises have become a hallmark of the ruling party’s political style. “Promises were made to the people, press releases were made to the media, but in the end, it seems only the signatures of silence made it to Delhi,” he said.

The leader emphasized that people of Jammu & Kashmir deserve sincerity, not slogans, and called for honest political engagement instead of media-driven theatrics.(KNS)
