Girls Shine in JKBOSE Class 12 Exams, Areeza Javid Tops Arts Stream with 99.2 Percent

Srinagar, April 30: (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Tuesday declared the results of the Class 12 Annual Regular Examinations 2025, with girls emerging as frontrunners across all major streams.


Topping the Arts stream was Areeza Javid from Green Valley Educational Institute, Ellahibagh Srinagar, who scored an impressive 496 out of 500 marks, securing 99.2 per cent. Close on her heels was Shifa Qureshi of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Nowhatta Srinagar, who secured 495 marks (99 per cent).

In the Science stream, Jammu-based student Anchal Parihar clinched the top position with 495 marks. She was followed by Jannat Shabir Rawa of SRM Welkin School, Sopore, and Sehrish Jehangir of Government Higher Secondary School, Bugam, both scoring 494 marks.

The Commerce stream was led by Adiba from Kashmir Harvard, who secured 495 marks. The second spot was jointly shared by Tanzila Hamid and Zainab Bilal of Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Amira Kadal, with 494 marks each.

In Home Science, the top rank went to Shibra of Government Higher Secondary School, Kohtibagh, who scored 485 marks, followed by Arwa Mushtaq of the same school with 483 marks.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Other notable scorers included Fatimah Mudasir Moharkan from Women’s Educational Institute, Lal Bazar, and Muzaina Tahir from Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Amira Kadal, both scoring 494 marks. Dimple Kotach and Faieza Arshid also stood out with 493 marks each.

Girls not only claimed the top positions but also recorded a higher overall pass percentage. Of the 51,591 girls who appeared, 77.72 per cent passed, compared to 71.95 per cent of the 51,717 boys. The overall pass percentage stood at 74.83 per cent.

Out of 1,03,308 students who appeared for the exams across 989 centres in Jammu and Kashmir, 77,311 qualified. Among them, 30,622 secured distinction (75% and above), 36,311 earned first division (60% and above), while 10,304 passed with second division (48% and above). Meanwhile, 25,027 students have been placed in the reappear category, and 970 were declared failed.
