GMC Srinagar Hospitals report 24 lakh patient turnout, Conducts 70k surgeries in 2023-24

Srinagar April 21 (KNS): With better health facilities and advanced patient care, the seven associated hospitals of Government Medical Collage Srinagar seen massive record of patient footfall in the year of 2023-24.

According to details, the seven associated hospitals of GMC Srinagar, including, SMHS, Shireen Bagh, Bone and joint hospital Barzula , CD Hospital, Lal Ded Hospital, Children hospital, and Rainwari hospital has recorded, 24,73,282 patients in its OPDs out of which 2,28,239 patients were admitted in the years of 2023-24.

In a bid to provide timely treatments to patients the associated hospitals also conducted 70,271 surgeries were conducted. Most of the patients come from North and South Kashmir to receive the treatment.

Talking to patient from North Kashmir, Bashir Ahmad said that I got admitted for around week in Shireen Bagh hospital, where I received very advanced patient care despite huge flow of patients. 

The hygiene and availability of doctors in government hospitals has been always a concern, but I am witness to change in government hospital like Shrin Bagh where I have observed very hygienic environment and timely availability of staff, he added.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel 

Another attendant from SMHS hospital, said that over the years, the facelties in government hospitals has improved a lot. We can see now that our hospitals even in rural areas are equipped with latest machines and technology, however health sector Kashmir is lacking staff at various hospitals.

The government hospitals in Kashmir are rendering praise worthy health service, all they need are responsible heads to function the hospitals smoothly, he added.

A senior health official from Srinagar associated Hospital talking to this correspondent said that in the wake of the spurt in patients from several areas of Kashmir Valey, our daily OPD is going above 4k in a day.

The hospital management leaves no stone unturned to provide timely treatment to all the patients. Despite massive patient flow we are committed to render uncompromised health services to the people coming to us.

We try our best that we could provide all faculties to people and to work over to he expectations of people, he added. (KNS)
