Gogri Cultural Club hosts poetry and music event in Karnah

Karnah, Kupwara(KNS): In a celebration of language, art, and tradition, the Gogri Cultural Club Karnah organized an inspiring event of poetry and music at Higher Secondary School Nachyan, drawing praise from the local community.

The event, presided over by celebrated Pahari language artist Abdul Rashid Qureshi, featured noted fiction writer Abdul Rashid Lone Ghamgeen and Mir Haider Nadeem as chief guests.

Gogri language poets shared their verses with an appreciative audience, creating an atmosphere rich with cultural pride and artistry. As per Kashmir News Service (KNS), this rare event, led by prominent Gujjar leader Khalid Shujaat Budhana and Zonal Education Officer Shah Muhammad Rana, was seen as a positive step in reviving Gogri language celebrations in Karnah. Rana and Budhana presented their own poetry, delighting those in attendance.

The gathering saw performances by Master Mumtaz Rabbani, Azmat, Naseer Ahmed Gorsi, Master Basheer, Abdul Rashid Lone, Master Idrees Bajad, and Riaz Ahmed Budhana, alongside notable Pahari poets Iftikhar Qureshi and Abdul Rashid Lone Ghamgeen, who also recited in Gogri.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The event’s compere, renowned teacher and poet Chaudhry Fareed Karnahi, smoothly transitioned into a musical session where artists sang in Pahari and Gogri. Among the performers were Mir Muhammad Diwana, Sajjad Qureshi, Master Sajjad-ul-Hasan, Naik Alam Chauhan, Rashta Akhtar Chauhan, Ashfaq Ahmad, Naveed Malik, Qazafi Khan, and Khurshid Ahmad Budhana, all of whom captivated the audience with their renditions.

In his concluding remarks, Abdul Rashid Qureshi expressed gratitude to the organizers for creating a platform where emerging voices could share their art, celebrating Karnah’s rich linguistic and cultural heritage.(KNS).
