Srinagar, Jan 30 (KNS): The Government of Jammu and Kashmir has issued an order renaming thirty-three educational institutions, including schools and colleges, along with roads, in honor of 'martyrs and eminent personalities' from the the J&K.
According to the official order, the newly named institutions include Government Degree College (Boys) in Anantnag, now named after Late Himayun Muzamil Bhat, Dy.SP. Also, Government Boys High School in Narwara, Srinagar, is now named after Late Masroor Ali Wani, Inspector.
Other institutions and roads renamed after martyrs and eminent personalities span various regions such as Jammu, Udhampur, Poonch, Kishtwar, and Ramban.
The order emphasizes the responsibility of concerned Administrative Secretaries to promptly update records to reflect these changes.
The Divisional Commissioners in Kashmir and Jammu have been tasked with monitoring the implementation of these renamings in their respective divisions.
The order concludes by directing Deputy Commissioners to organize appropriate events commemorating the naming of these educational institutions and roads.(KNS)
