Govt to review Jhelum Valley road as alternative to Baramulla–Uri NH: Javed Dar

Srinagar, 03 Jan (KNS): Minister for Agriculture, Javed Ahmad Dar on Saturday said that the Jammu and Kashmir government will examine a proposal to develop Jhelum Valley Road as an alternative route to the busy Baramulla–Uri National Highway.

Dar said that the government is aware of recent landslide incidents and that the Deputy Commissioner is closely monitoring the situation.

He said that Jhelum Valley Road will also be evaluated, and if the proposal is found suitable and feasible, the government will move forward with it.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

Regarding decongestion in Baramulla town, the Minister said that the local MLA, Javed Beigh, and the Deputy Commissioner are closely monitoring the progress.

He said that town bypass projects and other development works are underway, and the government is working on them.(KNS)
