Srinagar, August 11 (KNS): The increasing presence of counterfeit handicrafts being sold as genuine artisanal products in local markets has become a matter of grave concern, according to a recent statement by Sheikh Ashiq Ahmad, the former president of the Kashmir Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and a leading figure in the handicrafts sector.
In his statement, Ahmad highlighted the significant threat posed by these fake products to both consumers and the region's rich cultural heritage. "These counterfeit items not only deceive consumers but also undermine the hard work and cultural heritage of authentic artisans who pour their skill, creativity, and tradition into each piece they create," he said.
