New Delhi, Mar 09 (KNS): Haji Syed Salman Chishty, Gaddi Nashin of Dargah Ajmer Sharif and Chairman of the Chishty Foundation, represented India at the prestigious International Conference on Building Bridges Between Islamic Thoughts, held in Makkah under the patronage of His Majesty King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The event, organized by the Muslim World League, aligned with the ambitious goals of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, emphasizing moderation, unity, peace, and progressive harmony in the Islamic world.
The conference, which took place during the sacred month of Ramadan, brought together scholars, faith leaders, and intellectuals from across the Muslim world to discuss .
“The Jurisprudence of Differences and the Culture of Coalition.” This historic gathering aimed to foster unity among diverse Islamic schools of thought and promote mutual understanding and collaboration within the Muslim Ummah.
In his keynote address, Haji Syed Salman Chishty highlighted the inclusive spirit of the Indian Muslim community, emphasizing values of unity in diversity and interfaith harmony. Chishty also stressed the importance of combating sectarianism, promoting intra-faith dialogue, and embracing humanitarian values such as compassion, justice, and service to humanity, which form the core of Islamic teachings. Furthermore, he proposed the use of digital platforms for global scholarly collaboration to tackle contemporary challenges facing the Muslim world.
