Hamida Jaan Becomes Bandipora's First Female Assembly Candidate

Bandipora, Sep 08 (KNS): With the aim of women empowerment Hamida Jaan from Watapora area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district has announced to contest assembly elections as an independent candidate pledged to serve Bandipora people if elected.


She will be the first candidate from Bandipora to contest assembly elections.

Speaking with the Kashmir News Service (KNS), Hamida Jaan, who is a doctor by profession alleged national political parties of Kashmir for leaving Kashmiri people to suffer, says they forget people after getting elected.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

She also said that Bandipora lacks basic facilities in this 21st century and said several areas of Bandipora that have tourism potential remain underdeveloped and pledged to create employment opportunities for educated youths.

"Women have been restricted to household chores in the valley for decades, I want to break those traditional barriers. I hope the people of Bandipora will give a chance to new faces so that this family politics will end in the valley,". (KNS)
