Srinagar Dec 19(KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah is set to review the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir today, marking his first such meeting since the assembly elections held in September-October, sources revealed.
The meeting will include Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, senior officials from the Army, paramilitary forces, intelligence agencies, the JK administration, and the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
Shah will be briefed on the current security conditions in the Union Territory (UT) and along the border areas. This discussion will include a detailed roadmap for 2025, focusing on counter-terrorism measures and ensuring stability in the region.

Recent terror incidents will be a key focus, including the October 20 attack in central Kashmir, which left seven people dead, and targeted assaults on non-local workers in the region.
Official data shows significant progress in reducing violence. While 142 terrorists were neutralized in 2019, the number dropped to 45 so far this year. Civilian casualties also saw a sharp decline, from 50 in 2019 to 14 by early November this year.
The meeting aims to formulate strategies to curb terrorism and ensure a safer environment in the UT. (KNS)
