Home Minister chairs high-level MAC meeting, 'Directs security agencies to dismantle terror ecosystem through coordinated approach'

Srinagar, July 19 (KNS): Union Home Minister Amit Shah today chaired a high-level meeting to review the functioning of the Intelligence Bureau’s Multi Agency Centre (MAC) and directed all security agencies to dismantle the ecosystem of terrorism through a coordinated approach.

The meeting, held in New Delhi, brought together heads of security agencies, intelligence, and law enforcement organizations to discuss strategies for enhancing national security.


News agency KNS reported that Home Minister emphasized the necessity of adopting a "whole-of-the-government" approach towards national security, urging all agencies to work in unison to address the evolving security threat scenario in the country. He stressed the importance of greater synergy between all agencies to "dismantle terror networks and their supporting infrastructure".


“The security landscape is constantly evolving, and it is imperative that our agencies are equipped with the best tools and practices to counter any threats. The Multi Agency Centre plays a critical role in ensuring coordinated efforts and swift responses to any security challenges. We must continue to enhance its functioning and foster a culture of cooperation among all security agencies,” stated Amit Shah during the meeting.

He highlighted the need for MAC to operate 24x7 as a platform for proactive and real-time sharing of actionable intelligence among various stakeholders, including last-mile responders.


Sources revealed that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the MAC framework is set to undergo a major technical and operational revamp to increase its reach and effectiveness. This revamp aims to incorporate advanced technology and data analytics, making the intelligence-gathering process more efficient and comprehensive.


Senior officials made detailed presentations on MAC’s achievements in preempting potential threats and its role in high-profile investigations.


They also discussed the integration of new technologies to further enhance the center's capabilities.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on the necessity of continuous training and capacity-building programs for personnel involved in intelligence work.
Amit Shah reiterated the government's commitment to providing all necessary resources and support to strengthen the capabilities of MAC.(KNS)
