Srinagar, September 30 (KNS): Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, R R Swain on Monday said that he believe that he has not lost the opportunity to serve the J&K.
Speaking to reporters during his visit to Balidan Stambh on his last day of service, Swain said that during his 30 years of service, his primary mission was to ensure that the people of Jammu and Kashmir live in an environment free from fear and intimidation.
According to KNS correspondent, He said he felt fulfilled in his efforts to make a positive impact on the region. "I believe I have not lost the opportunity to play my part," he added.
Speaking on his tenure, Swain said that it had been an honor to serve in Jammu and Kashmir and that the opportunity to contribute to peace is a rare one.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelHe expressed gratitude to the government and the Almighty for allowing him to serve the people of J&K. "This opportunity doesn’t come to all. For this, I am thankful to the Almighty and the government and then to my colleagues," he said.
"Many of my colleagues, whom I knew personally, sacrificed their lives for the cause. It is my duty to honor them," Swain said adding that as a police officer in Kashmir, one must always be ready for the ultimate sacrifice.
"I tried to bring lasting peace and prosperity to everyone in Jammu and Kashmir, and I am grateful for the support from all quarters," he added.(KNS)
