If elected, my top priority is lifting stone quarrying ban: NC's Hilal Lone

Bandipora, Sep 01 (KNS): National Conference's Sonawari constituency candidate, Hilal Akbar Lone, accused the BJP of weakening the NC by using different tactics and stated that they do not want to see Omar Abdullah as the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.

Speaking to the media at the sidelines of a workers' convention in Wangipora, Sumbal, Lone promised to restore the ban on stone quarrying if elected, stating that hundreds of families who were reliant on stone quarrying had their livelihoods affected by the ban.

He also mentioned that the people in Sumbal favored the National Conference as it was the only party that had addressed their concerns.

"I hope people will choose us again, and I am confident they will.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelBut we have to work hard and reach out to people to defeat other candidates with a majority and strengthen the party at the grassroots level," Lone said during the campaign in Sumbal.

The workers' convention was attended by hundreds of workers from different villages of the Sonawari constituency.

It's worth mentioning that Lone is contesting assembly elections for the first time from the Sonawari constituency on the National Conference's ticket. Previously, his father, Mohd Akbar Lone, had won assembly elections from the Sonawari constituency and had also served as a Member of Parliament from North Kashmir. (KNS)
