Srinagar July 7 (KNS): Prominent Shia leader and People's Conference General Secretary Imran Reza Ansari on Monday Lauded Administration and Jammu and Kashmir Police for smooth Ashura Arrangements.

Taking to X, he posted, Grateful to the LG Administration & Hon’ble CM for the overall arrangements during Ashura. Yes, there were a few glitches, like the major water leakage that disrupted drinking water supply in some areas but these were clearly beyond direct control.

The 10th of Muharram marks the emotional & spiritual peak for the Shia’s, as we remember the unparalleled sacrifice of Imam Hussain (A.S.) and his companions. We still have 47 days of majalis and processions ahead in various areas of Kashmir, but the arrangements so far deserve acknowledgment.

Kudos also to the PDD for ensuring seamless electricity during peak gatherings. The SMC drainage & sanitation teams, Fire & Emergency Services, and ground staff worked selflessly, often unnoticed. Appreciation to the R&B Department for blacktopping key roads, urgent pothole repairs. Fire & Emergency Services, and several line departments also worked quietly but effectively on the ground.
