Srinagar , Dec 23 (KNS) : JK Peoples Conference (JKPC) General Secretary and President of All J&K Shia Association, Molvi Imran Ansari, on tuesday took to X to raise serious concerns over the continued neglect of the open merit community in Jammu & Kashmir and the growing gap between political optics and ground reality.
According to a press release issued, He said that while 480 fresh Medical Officer posts were referred to JKPSC with remarkable speed, “files moving faster than ambulances”the open merit file under the NC government appears to be in deep meditation, with no movement, no clarity, and no accountability.
He added that open merit, despite being the largest section of J&K’s population, behaves like a “VIP minority” vocal in private messages and social media, but largely absent when collective action is actually required. Referring to JKPC’s call for an open debate a few months ago, he said that in a Union Territory of over one crore people, barely a couple of hundred registered, exposing the internal apathy within the community itself.
Molvi Imran Ansari said that over the past year, governance has turned into a PhD-level exercise in optics press conferences, TV panels, and prime-time debates while promises such as 200 units of free electricity, gas cylinders, and relief in exam application fees for youth remain beautifully drafted but strictly confined to paper.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“On the ground, it is still the same dust, the same delays, and the same excuses,” he added.
He further said that the real struggle is no longer only with the government, but within the open merit community, which continues to outsource its future to TV studios, WhatsApp forwards, and symbolic photo-ops by a few self-serving individuals. “Politics does not move on hashtags alone; it moves when people show up where it actually hurts,” he remarked.
Making a direct appeal, he requested Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take one concrete, time-bound decision on the open merit and reservation issue, something that people will remember four years from now, not just for a night’s news ticker.
He added that until such a step is taken, new advertisements will keep coming, old files will keep aging gracefully, and open merit will keep refreshing timelines waiting for someone else’s courage to fix its own apathy.(KNS)
