Baramulla, March 18 (KNS ): In an unusual style something shocked the whole Kashmir’s Famous tourist attraction site , Gulmarg when three tourists were caught with fake gondola tickets at GI station in Gulmarg on Monday morning.
Official sources said that the incident came into limelight only when the Gondola ticketing staff-Irfan Lone, Nasir Matoo and in charge ticketing GGP-noticed discrepancies in the tickets presented by the passengers. Upon their arrival at the ticking counter we felt “Ticket” details unmatching and were not matching with the identity of the travellers.
However, the tourists were not allowed for the Gondola ride and were stopped by the officials. Upon inquiry by Sh. Manzoor-ul-Haq Nazki, Incharge E-Ticketing, the tourists revealed that they had obtained the tickets from a local guide, identified as Firdous Ahmad (Phone: 8493962331). Gulmarg Police Station took a swift action against the person who duped them and started police case against the person upon written complain lodged by the victims (tourists).
Gulamarg police station shared details with the KNS, “A case registered an FIR (No. 5, Dated 17.03.2025) at P/S Gulmarg against the alleged culprit, identified as Firdous Ahmad Reshi, son of Ab Rasheed Reshi, a resident of Baderkoot, under Section 318(2). Authorities have assured strict action against those involved in the fraudulent mode of issuance of Gandola tickets.
Meanwhile officials at Gondola authorities warned tourists from getting duped and purchasing tickets from unauthorized people in the area.
“We are getting tougher against such people who dupe people. Investigation has been put in motion to nab down others who are the part of this fraudulent ways of issuing tickets to tourists or even our own people,” says an Officer.(KNS)
