Srinagar, April 30 (KNS): Nisar Ahmad Ahangar, independent candidate for Srinagar Parliamentary Constituency, hailing from downtown Srinagar, has released his ’out of box’ election manifesto. It’s uniquely focussing on the development of human capital especially the youth and protecting & promoting artisan community who have been living in abject poverty sinces decades.
While focusing on youth, he promises to transform Education System to make it more inclusive. “I will ensure flight of capital in the sector is stopped. My efforts will be to build high quality educational infrastructure in J&K so that our students are not forced to move outside their homeland for quality/ professional education. Besides, my emphasis would be to promote Skill Development to make our youth employable and transform their future as employers,” mentions Ahangar in his manifesto.
Interestingly, Ahangar in his manifesto among other things has pointed out menace of traffic jams hampering growth trajectory. “I will work towards better transport facilities for commuters to get rid of menace of traffic jams, accidenta and other fatalities on roads. Efforts will be made to rope in highly professional traffic engineers to remove mess on our roads which has been eating up our growth trajectory,” reads his manifesto.
With respect to JK’s cultural industry, Ahangar aims to achieve prosperity and profits for artisan community. He says: “It is my endeavour to work for the welfare of our culture industry (handicrafts sector) where our artisans are the core contributors to make our arts and crafts a prized possession globally. They get peanuts first their craftsmanship and the middleman hijacks their hardwork. I will ensure their direct linkage to global markets which will enhance their incomes magically. He has picked delivery of justice as one of the priorities to help the people to get out of miseries. In this regard, Ahangar’s manifestos reads: “During the past few decades hundreds have become victim of injustice during the course of violence and counter violence. This has shattered families leaving them in abject misery. No one is listening to them. I promise to take up their issues to highest level in the country to get iustice and relieved of their miseries.”
Ahangar promises to turn heads in corporate world and rope them in a unique way to lend their support in the development of the region. “Here I would be putting my efforts to mobilize Corporate World in the country to invest in J&K through their CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) window. Their CSR spending in J&K would be an effective means of socio- economic development on sustainable basis. This will also create a relaible link between corporates and our place. Over a period of time it will infuse confidence in corporates and will encourage them to make J&K as an extended arm of their business operations. This initiative will be a game changer in employment generation of skilled youth,” says Ahangar.
While enauring health for all, his manifesto reveals his intentions to lay emphasis on getting state-of-the-art health facilities at the doorstep of every citizen in J&K. “No patient should be forced to go out of the J&K for specialized treatment. Getting top class global brands in medical treatment to J&K providing specialised treatment to patients at most economical expenses would be my priority.” (KNS)
