India Storm into Champions Trophy Final with Commanding Win Over Australia

Dubai March 04 (KNS): For years, Australia dominated the knockout stages of ICC events, but India is rewriting the script. With a convincing four-wicket victory, they have secured their fifth final appearance in the last seven 50-over world tournaments.

Virat Kohli was at his vintage best, guiding India with a composed 84 off 98 balls. His mastery against spin, sharp running between the wickets, and tactical awareness kept the scoreboard ticking. Despite Australia's depleted bowling attack—missing Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood—their spinners couldn’t contain India’s chase on a batting-friendly Dubai pitch.

Earlier, Australia had looked in control, thanks to Steve Smith’s resilience and Alex Carey’s counterattack.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelSmith, known for troubling India in the past, kept the middle overs steady, but a rare mistake against Mohammed Shami’s full toss saw him bowled. Glenn Maxwell followed soon after, exposing the tail. Carey’s fluent 61 off 57 balls helped Australia reach a competitive total, but it wasn’t enough.

India’s spinners, led by Varun Chakravarthy and Axar Patel, played a crucial role, while Shami’s reverse swing turned the game. Rohit Sharma admitted he was unsure at the toss, but losing it worked in India’s favor. Now, with momentum on their side, India will aim for the title on Friday.(KNS)
