Indian Civil Society Must Raise Its Voice for Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh: Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi

Srinagar, June 23,(KNS): Aga Syed Muntazir Mehdi, senior leader of the Jammu and Kashmir People’s Democratic Party and Secretary of the Anjuman Interfaith Dialogue Chapter, has called on Indian civil society to speak up for the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.

During a meeting with a visiting delegation from Citizens for Democracy, Aga Muntazir urged the group to raise awareness about the ground realities in the region and encourage open and respectful dialogue with the central government. Aga Muntazir expressed his full support for the delegation and said he hopes they can help counter negative narratives surrounding Kashmir. He stressed the need for greater understanding, compassion, and unity to help restore the dignity and rights of the people of Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh.

He also praised the efforts of Citizens for Democracy and said such civil society initiatives are key to building a more inclusive and peaceful future for the region.(KNS)
