Srinagar July 13 (KNS): An inter school book reading competition was held at Iqbal public High school Soura today in collaboration with voluntary organisation RAHM. On this occasion winners of previous book reading competition were awarded with certificates and cash prizes.
Present on the occasion were Secretary Iqbal public High school Soura Javed Matjee, former Director sheep husbandry Dr. Javed Ahmad Khan, Prof. (Dr.) Zahoor Ahmad Pampori, Educationists Fazal Illahi, Ali Mohammad Rather and Sofi Ali Mohammad Nowsheri, RAHM founder Dr. Mohammad Maroof Shah, it's Chairman Adil Ahmad Bhat and Secretary Haris Ahmad Parray, journalist Haroon Mirani, Dr. Zameer Ahmad Bhat, Wajahat Margoob, Foukiya Farooq, Shabir Ahmad Matjee, Er. Shabir Ahmad Malik, Aamir Hussain and others. As overall personality development of students is one of the prime objectives at Iqbal public High school, hence inducing the habit of book reading in students and increasing their interest with different languages, remains a priority.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelTo achieve this objective students are given different books for reading followed by a written test about the same book/s. The toppers of last month's book reading competition were awarded at today's function. Ziya Showkat, Ayat d/o Gulam Nabi Ahangar and Maria Mahnoor d/o Reyaz Ahmad respectively bagged first, second and third positions in last month's competition. They were awarded certificates by school and cash prizes by RAHM. Other participants including Adnan Baba, Arina Jan, Salim and Muheet were also given certificates. Moreover the written test of this month's interschool book reading competition was also held today in which students from many schools participated.(KNS)
