International cricket arrives in Srinagar after many decades

Srinagar, Sep 6 (KNS) International cricket stars have arrived in Srinagar for the highly anticipated Legends League Cricket (LLC) tournament, which has sparked excitement among locals. The grand finale is set for October 16 at the historic Bakshi Stadium, which has undergone extensive renovations to accommodate the event.

Seven matches are scheduled between October 9 and October 16, and The players are staying at the famous luxury five-star Radisson Hotel in Rajbagh, owned by Kashmir's prominent business tycoon Mushtaq Chaya. Radisson Collection Hotel & Spa, Riverfront Srinagar is well-known throughout the country.

Former Indian cricket coach and legendary player Ravi Shastri, speaking to the media on the sidelines of the tournament, expressed optimism about the future of cricket in Jammu and Kashmir.

He highlighted the immense potential of the region’s youth, stating, "There is immense potential here. The youngsters are full of talent, and with the right exposure, they can go far. The presence of legends in events like this is an inspiration for them.," he told reporters.

To ensure the safety of players, officials, and spectators, Jammu and Kashmir Police have implemented stringent security measures, including multi-tiered checkpoints and constant surveillance. The event promises to be one of the most thrilling sports spectacles in the region. (KNS)
