Kupwara, 26 June(KNS): In observance of the International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the District Police Kupwara organized seminars, rallies, and pledge ceremonies across all police stations in the district.
These events were led by senior police officers, respected community members, and, notably, students who played an active role in the activities.
The main program was held at the District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara, beginning with a seminar. During this seminar, students engaged in an interactive session with G M Bhat, Additional SP Kupwara, discussing the dangers of drug abuse and the importance of staying drug-free. Following the seminar, a rally commenced from DPL Kupwara and concluded at Old Chowk Kupwara. The event ended with a Drug-Free Pledge Signing Ceremony at Old Chowk, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to combating drug abuse.
These initiatives are taken by District Police Kupwara to raise awareness about the dangers of drug abuse and to make a drug-free community. The active participation of students and community members shows that collective effort is required to address this critical issue.(KNS).
