SRINAGAR, Oct 01(KNS): Voting for the third and final phase of the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections began on Tuesday, covering 40 seats across seven districts, including Jammu.
Over 39.18 lakh eligible voters will determine the fate of 415 candidates, including former ministers.
Polling commenced at 7 am in 16 assembly segments in three border districts of north Kashmir, supported by tight security measures involving over 400 companies of security forces.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe assembly segments include Baramulla, Uri, Rafiabad, and several others in Kupwara and Bandipora districts.
In the Jammu region, voting also started in 24 constituencies, including Udhampur, Samba, and Kathua.
A comprehensive security plan is in place at each polling station, with voting set to conclude at 6 pm. Results will be announced on October 8.(KNS).
