Srinagar, July 03 (KNS): The Jammu & Kashmir Bank in collaboration with The Kashmir Chamber of Commerce & Industry ( KCCI) organised an Interactive Session with Local Exporters at SKICC on Tuesday, 2 nd of July, 2024. The interaction the first of its kind besides Jammu & Kashmir Bank, senior Customs and ECGC attended it.
The Interaction was presided over by the Managing Director J & K Bank , Shri Baldev Prakash. The President KCCI Javed Tenga in his address said that tireless efforts were made to make it possible to organise today’s event. He thanked the MD J&K Bank , the Addl. Commissioner Customs , Mr. Joginder Singh and a senior ECGC officer Mr. Rahul Sharma for personally attending the Interaction. The president commended the role J&K Bank had played in the economic development of the State with its customer friendly approach. He referred to Prime Minister Shri Natendra Modi’s speech during his recent visit to Kashmir in which he had lauded the performance of the JK Bank Management and staff for having brought down NPA from 11 to 4.75 % . In this context Jeved Tenga called upon the MD J&K Bank to announce an OTS Scheme without cap and a longer time framme. He raised the problems faced by exporters with J& K Bank , Customs Department, Directorate General of Foreign Trade ( DGFT) and ECGC.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe MD -JK Bank in his address spoke about the efforts being made for extending better services and enhanced facilities to account holders . He spoke at length about the importance of the role the exports are destined to play in helping the Country to achieve 5 Trillion Dollar Economy .The Addl.Commissioner Customs , Joginder Singh expressed happiness to find a large number of exporters attending the event to discuss the crucial issues. He frankly admitted that many problems faced by exporters were due to systemic glitches which needed to be addressed sooner than later to ensure hassle free and smooth export process. He assured that the issues raised by stakeholders would be resolved shortly.
The representative of ECGC Rahul Sharma gave presentation about various ECGC Schemes.
The highlight of the Interaction was that the exporters participating in the interaction raised the issues faced by them with the Bank and export process. The MD/ CEO J& K Bank issued on the spot orders for addressing most of the problems raised by exporters vis a vis J&K Bank. The president KCCI thanked everyone for making the Interactive session successful. It was resolved to hold more such discussions on regular basis.(KNS)
