BJP Parliamentary Board to take final call, Sources say Raina refused offer to contest from Jammu
New Delhi, Feb 29 (KNS): BJP top brass has offered its J&K unit chief Ravinder Raina to contest Lok Sabha polls from Jammi-Reasi seat, however, he has refused the offer as he is willing to contest the polls from Anantnag-Rajouir segment, sources said on Wednesday.
Top sources privy to the development told KNS that Raina has requested the BJP Parliamentary Board to withdraw his name from Jammu-Reasi constituency and said if party find it proper, he is ready to contest from Anantnag-Rajouri seat.
Sources also disclosed that union minister and MP Dr Jitendra Singh, senior leaders Sunil Sharma, Devinder Singh Rana and Shakti Parihar are the front runners for Udhampur-Kathua-Doda constituency.
They said that Dr Jitendra Singh may be given another opportunity from Udhampur seat.
Notably, BJP Parliamentary Board meeting is underway in New Delhi, which is being attended by PM Narendra Modi, party chief strategist and Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP chief JP Nadda besides other senior leaders to discuss and finalise the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha polls. (KNS)
