J&K Govt Reviewing Proposal for 12 Free LPG Cylinders Annually

Srinagar, Mar 24 (KNS): The Jammu and Kashmir government is evaluating a proposal to provide 12 free LPG cylinders per year to residents, Minister for Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs Satish Sharma informed the Assembly on Monday.

Responding to a query from People’s Conference MLA Sajad Gani Lone, Sharma stated that the proposal is under examination and that the government is working toward fulfilling its commitments. Lone had sought clarity on whether the scheme would be implemented and, if so, when it would take effect.

The initiative, originally promised in the National Conference’s 2014 election manifesto, is intended to benefit the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) in J&K.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelWhile no official timeline has been set, Sharma had previously indicated in November last year that an announcement regarding free LPG cylinders and increased ration allocations was in the pipeline.
