This fresh composition replaces an earlier nine-member committee that was formed on December 25, 2024, under Rule 363 of the Rules of Procedure and Conduct of Business. The previous committee included Mubarak Gul (NC), Justice (Retired) Hasnain Masoodi (NC), Saifullah Mir (NC), Nizamuddin Bhat (Congress), Pawan Kumar Gupta (BJP), Ranbir Singh Pathania (BJP), Muhammad Yousuf Tarigami (CPI-M), and Muzaffar Iqbal Khan (Independent).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
The reconstitution has addressed the political concerns raised by the exclusion of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and People's Conference (PC) in the earlier committee, both of which were now included in the revised version. The fresh order is seen as a move to ensure a more inclusive representation and bring balance to the composition, as the previous panel had been dominated by the National Conference (NC) and BJP.
Notably KNS has reported earlier after first notification that PDP, PC, AIP and AAP has not been given representation in the committee.
