Srinagar, Aug 01 (KNS): n a significant infrastructural push, the Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory government has ramped up efforts to macadamise a substantial number of roads before the onset of winter.
With the majority of the roads already completed, the administration is leaving no stone unturned to ensure that the remaining stretches are also addressed promptly.
Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has emphasized the importance of this initiative, stating, "Our goal is to provide the people of Jammu and Kashmir with better roads. We are closely monitoring the progress and taking every feedback into account to improve our infrastructure."
The administration's focus on road improvement has seen an accelerated pace in the macadamization process, particularly in Srinagar.
News agency KNS reported that the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) has intensified its efforts under its jurisdiction, ensuring that city roads are upgraded swiftly.
An official from the SMC remarked, "We are working day and night to ensure the completion of road macadamization projects. The feedback from the residents has been overwhelmingly positive, and we aim to meet their expectations."

An R&B official highlighted the coordinated efforts, stating, "Our teams are dedicated to improving road connectivity across Jammu and Kashmir. The coordinated effort between the government agencies are ensuring that no road is left out."
Residents have started noticing the improvements. Bashir Ahmed, a shopkeeper in Srinagar, shared his views, "The roads in our area were in poor condition for a long time. But now, with the ongoing macadamization work, we can see a significant difference. It's a relief, especially with winter approaching."
The administration's proactive approach is also aimed at mitigating the challenges posed by harsh winter conditions, which often render roads unusable and disrupt daily life. By prioritizing road macadamization, the government is taking a crucial step towards ensuring smoother and safer travel for the residents.
As the winter season approaches, the concerted efforts of the Jammu and Kashmir government, under the leadership of LG Manoj Sinha, are set to bring further improvement in the region's road infrastructure, promising better connectivity and enhanced quality of life for its citizens.(KNS)
