Institute actively involving youth under J&K Startup Policy: Director

Jammu, Jul 12 (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Friday conducted an “Idea Generation Workshop” for 100 students of Govt College for Women (GCW), Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. The workshop was conducted under J&K Startup Policy 2024-27 here at the Bari Brahmna campus of the institute.

The workshop aimed at fostering innovation and entrepreneurship saw an enthusiastic participation from students of the Government College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu. During the workshop various aspects to be considered while starting out sustainable and scalable businesses, were highlighted.

“The institute is actively involving the youth under J&K Startup Policy and the response has been quite satisfactory. Students received valuable insight as to how to think and generate ideas for startups,” said Director JKEDI, Sh. Rajinder Kumar Sharma (JKAS).

The Idea Generation Workshop began with the session by the team of the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Business Modelling (CIIBM), a program vertical of JKEDI encouraging the participant students to think of the various problems faced by the society.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The team comprising Sh. Zahid Ali Dar and Sh. Sorab Mengi spoke about generating ideas that would be viable as businesses and encouraged students to think about uniqueness, feasibility and competition as well. It was an interactive session where 100 students from GCW Gandhi Nagar Jammu participated and made it a fun workshop. Some students shared their ideas and a professional discussion over the steps to take an idea to a business took place over the same. The participants were guided through various exercises and activities designed to stimulate their creative thinking and idea generation skills. The workshop aimed to provide a platform for students to explore their entrepreneurial potential and develop innovative solutions to real world problems.

“It was a great learning experience for us and an exciting experience for everybody present here,” a participant student said while sharing her feedback.

Other JKEDI officials present on the occasion were Dr. Vinod Kumar Sharma and Sh. Sahil Sharma.(KNS)
