Jammu, Mar 20 (KNS): Three Entrepreneurship Development Programs (EDPs) of the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute under under SANKALP successfully concluded today in Ramban district.
The three programs were conducted at Industrial Training Institutes (ITI) of Banihal and Ramban and Government Higher Secondary School, Batote in which 124 entrepreneurs and aspiring entrepreneurs have been successfully trained. The entrepreneurs were exposed to a comprehensive 5-day training course under Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) equipping them with the know-how of running a profitable business, managerial skills and knowledge for successfully establishing and running their livelihood generating ventures. SANKALP (Skill Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness and Livelihood Promotions), is a programme of the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, GoI with loan assistance from the World Bank.
The EDPs were inaugurated by Director JKEDI, Rajinder Sharma (JKAS) on March 14. The aspirants have chosen Dairy farming, Mushroom Farming, establishment of small business ventures like Boutiques, multi-utility stores, beauty salons, Guest Houses etc.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
Sector-specific training was also imparted to the trainees during the course in which subject matter specialists from J&K Bank, Agriculture Department, Horticulture Department, Labour and Employment Department were invited to interact with the
participants and share useful insights on the subject matter. A field-visit of the trainees to the successful business ventures was also organised during the program to provide them real-time business exposure.
On the occasion of completion of the program, Senior Faculty, JKEDI Dr. Majid Manzoor Khan virtually interacted with the Participants. The participants also shared their experiences. The programme was coordinated by the District Nodal Officer, JKEDI Ramban, Basit Khurshid Course Coordinator, Sheikh Ashraf, Assistant Faculty and Yashpaul Sharma, Assistant Faculty.(KNS)
