JKPC Launches Pioneering ‘Young Leaders Internship Program’ to Empower Kashmiri Youth

Srinagar, February 20,l (KNS):  The Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Conference (JKPC) has unveiled its groundbreaking Young Leaders Internship Program, a first-of-its-kind initiative by the party’s youth wing aimed at nurturing the next generation of political and social leaders in the region. Open to students and young professionals, the program offers internships across nine dynamic domains: Research, Policy Making, Social Media, Graphic Design, Web Development, Multimedia, Management, Content Writing, and Legal Affairs. Designed to align with academic commitments, the program requires interns to dedicate only one office day per week (Saturday), ensuring their studies remain uninterrupted while they gain hands-on experience.

Mudasir Karim, President of Youth JKPC, emphasized on the innovative approach of the program, stating, “This is a one-of-a-kind initiative, unparalleled in the political landscape of Jammu and Kashmir. By integrating youth into grassroots political processes, we aim to bridge the gap between academia and governance. We encourage every young Kashmiri with a passion for change to seize this opportunity to grow, learn, and shape the future of our society.” He added that the internship is structured to provide participants with exposure to mainstream politics, equipping them to better understand democratic values and governance.

The three-month program promises to be a transformative experience, offering selected interns mentorship, networking opportunities with peers and leaders, and a chance to collaborate closely with JKPC President Sajad Gani Lone and prominent religious-political leader and JKPC General Secretary Imran Raza Ansari. Interns will also receive a letter of recommendation and an experience certificate upon completion, bolstering their professional credentials.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

A key objective of the initiative is to democratize political engagement by introducing mainstream politics into colleges and universities. “We want to dismantle the notion that politics is detached from everyday life. By embedding this program in educational spaces, we are empowering youth to become stakeholders in democracy,” Karim noted. Over the past year, JKPC received overwhelming interest from youngsters across the region, prompting the youth wing to formally launch the program after months of planning.

The internship underscores the commitment of JKPC to fostering leadership under the vision of party President Sajad Gani Lone, whose advocacy for youth inclusion and innovative governance has been pivotal. “The leadership of Mr. Lone has redefined political discourse in Jammu and Kashmir, prioritizing grassroots empowerment and youth-driven solutions. This program reflects his belief that the progress of a region hinges on investing in its young minds,” added Karim. Interns will engage in policy workshops, community outreach, and strategic projects, gaining insights into the transformative agenda of Sajad Gani Lone for the region.

By combining skill development, political education, and practical exposure, the Young Leaders Internship Program seeks to create a pipeline of informed, capable leaders ready to address the unique challenges of J&K.
