JKPCC District President Bandipora Demands Door-to-Door Garbage Collection in All Villages

Bandipora,30 Jan (KNS): Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) District President Bandipora Mushtaq Ahmad Tantrey has urged the authorities to extend the door-to-door garbage collection service to every village in the region. He expressed concern that the Rural Development Department has implemented the service in only a few selected villages, leaving many others without proper waste management facilities.

Tantrey emphasized that the lack of a comprehensive garbage disposal system is forcing villagers to dump waste into nallas and streams, leading to environmental degradation and health hazards. He called upon the concerned authorities to expedite the process and ensure that every village benefits from this essential service.

"Proper waste management is crucial for maintaining cleanliness and protecting our natural water bodies. The authorities must take immediate steps to expand door-to-door garbage collection across all villages," Tantrey stated.

He said that the authorities have initiated a good step by introducing door-to-door garbage collection in some villages, but why should other villages be left behind?Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelEvery household, irrespective of location, deserves access to proper waste disposal facilities. If we fail to act now, our water bodies and environment will suffer irreparable damage.

Residents have also voiced their concerns, highlighting the urgent need for a structured waste disposal mechanism to prevent pollution and safeguard public health.

Tantrey has called upon the Rural Development Department and other concerned departments to take swift action and ensure that every village, regardless of its size or location, benefits from a proper garbage collection and disposal mechanism.

"We cannot afford to delay this any further. The administration must act responsibly and extend the garbage collection service to every corner of our villages. If this issue is ignored, we will witness a severe environmental crisis in the coming years," he warned.

Tantrey reaffirmed his commitment to advocating for the expansion of the door-to-door garbage collection service and assured the people that he would continue to press the administration until the demand is met. (KNS)
