Kanyakumari to Srinagar: Youth covers 5,000+ km in 109 days, reaches Qazigund

 Qazigund, May 14 (KNS): A 23-year-old youth running from Kanyakumari to Srinagar as part of a ‘Run India’ mission reached the Qazigund town in south Kashmir's Kulgam district on Thursday after 109 days.

 
Om Satija, who covers 50-60 km daily, said the run aims to promote physical fitness, strengthen national unity and encourage a drug-free society.
 
"I appeal to all youngsters to stay away from drugs and work together to build a drug-free India," Satija told news agency Kashmir News Service (KNS).Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
He said fitness and discipline can help the youth achieve their goals and shield them from social evils like drug addiction.
 
Locals and passersby at Qazigund lauded his dedication. People from various areas of Kulgam district gave him a warm welcome.
 
Social activist Mohammad Hussain offered him refreshments and encouragement during his halt, the youth said.
 
The run began from Kanyakumari and will end in Srinagar. (KNS)
