Srinagar, Mar 04 (KNS): Classrooms across the Kashmir division buzzed with renewed energy as government and recognized private schools returned to their usual routines, echoing with the lively chatter of returning students.
Following a hiatus of more than three months, schools eagerly unlocked their doors to welcome back students after an extended winter vacation.
The break, which commenced on November 28, 2023, for students up to 8th grade and December 11, 2023, for those in 9th to 12th standard, came to an end as schools prepared to resume operations from March 1, 2024.
However, due to inclement weather forecasts predicting heavy rains and snowfall, the resumption of classes faced a two-day delay.
The palpable excitement among the children resonated with their joy at reuniting with the familiar environment of their school after the prolonged winter break.
In anticipation of the upcoming annual board examinations and to rejuvenate school infrastructure, teaching staff had already convened at their respective institutions from February 21, 2024.
While schools across much of Kashmir reopened their doors, those nestled in snowbound regions remained inaccessible, awaiting the clearance of pathways.
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (BOSE) has delineated the schedule for annual examinations in softer zones. Class 12th examinations are set to commence on March 6, followed by class 10th on March 11, and class 11th on March 30, 2024, in softer zone areas, marking another significant milestone in the academic calendar.(KNS)
