Khyber Cement and BIS Hold Oath Ceremony During 'Sustainability Through Standards' Bike Rally

Srinagar, Oct 10 (KNS); Khyber Cement’s ‘Driving Sustainability through Standards’ bike rally in association with the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for World Standards Day 2024, commenced on 9th October 2024. The bike rally started from Srinagar and will conclude at the Siachen Base Camp. This initiative promotes organizational sustainability by implementing proactive monitoring measures that strengthen transparency and uphold ethical practices. Khyber’s participation in the event underscores its dedication to driving meaningful change, extending its impact beyond business.

The ceremony featured notable attendees, including Mr Riaz Tramboo, Director of Operations at Khyber Cement; Mr Manzoor Ahmad Mir, Head of Commercials, Legal & Regulatory Affairs at Khyber Cement; and Mr Pankaj Atri, Joint Director of the Bureau of Indian Standards, Jammu and Kashmir.

 Riaz Tramboo said, “On World Standard Day, we at Khyber cement are very proud to be associated with this initiative. Since day one, our endeavour has been that our quality should not be compromised, customers should get value for their money. We believe in providing quality to our customers because they trust us.” Further requesting people to be conscious of the quality of the products they sell while being consistent.

The riders participating in the bike rally, who began their journey from Srinagar, traveled to Khyber Cement's factory at Khonmoh, where 80 Khyber employees, along with representatives from the Bureau of Indian Standards, took the oath together. The oath taken by employees commits them to consistently support standardization and advocate for the use of ‘standardized’ products among others.

The oath-taking ceremony served as a powerful reminder for all to prioritize the quality of the products. This collective commitment will amplify the mission of this unique initiative, enhancing its impact and reach. It is also a testament for the manufacturers to produce standardised products while serving their customers.
