Srinagar, Dec 26 (KNS): Khyber Cement continued its annual tradition of blending industry leadership with cultural stewardship by unveiling its 2026 calendar, themed “Kashmir’s Capital Architecture.”

More than a corporate artefact, the calendar serves as a visual chronicle of Kashmir’s shifting centres of power and their architectural expressions, spanning ancient stone foundations, imperial town planning, and multi-storey wooden craftsmanship that once dominated the Valley’s skylines.

The calendar presents twelve carefully curated chapters, each representing a month and a historical capital, beginning from Pandrethan (ancient Pandrethan/Pandrethan), where the earliest political imprint of the Valley took architectural form during Emperor Ashoka’s rule, moving through the regal stone brilliance of Parihaspora (Parihaspor/Parihaspora), the urban ambition of Parihaspor’s planned townscape, and the towering seven-storey wooden structures of Nowshera that reflected a distinct era of Kashmiri civic design.

Speaking on the initiative, Director Corporate & Strategy, Umar Tramboo, emphasised that the calendar is not merely a tradition but a statement of belonging. “This calendar is an extension of our belief in celebrating the region beyond business,” he said, adding that the brand’s identity is deeply rooted in Kashmir’s cultural and historical landscape.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel“True progress is built on respect for the past,” he further said.

Head Commercials, Legal & Regulatory Affairs, Manzoor Ahmad Mir, echoed similar sentiments, calling the Valley’s architecture a living historical manuscript. “Our architectural history is a chronicle etched into the landscape,” he said, reinforcing the company’s philosophy of “Dil se banao” build with heart, a message that has now become synonymous with the brand’s core identity.

The event also saw participation from key government and industry stakeholders. Hameeda Akhtar (JKAS), General Manager, District Industries Centre, Srinagar, commended the initiative for preserving Kashmir’s architectural memory and cultural consciousness.

Senior officials from the Industries Department attended the launch, marking it as an effort that bridges corporate leadership with heritage documentation.
