KTA urges administration to address increasing dog menace in Srinagar

Srinagar January 22 (KNS): The Kashmir Trade Alliance (KTA) has called on local authorities to take immediate action to address the growing menace of stray dogs in Srinagar.

In a statement, President Aijaz Shahdhar expressed concern over the rising number of dog bites affecting the safety of residents and shoppers alike.

"Each passing day, we are hearing alarming news about dog bites, which significantly impacts our local trade," Shahdhar stated. "Particularly during the morning and evening hours, people are afraid to step outside, leading to a noticeable decline in customer footfall. Many are terrified of potential attacks by stray dogs."

Despite ongoing discussions and commitments regarding a sterilization program to control the population of stray dogs, Shahdhar highlighted that the situation appears to be worsening, with the population of stray canines increasing daily.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
“We have been hearing about the sterilization program, yet the problem seems to be spiralling out of control,” he added. “It is imperative that the administration recognizes the urgency of this situation and implements effective measures to ensure the safety of our community."
