Handwara, Nov 13 (KNS): Tehsildar Handwara, Zeeshan Khan, confirmed on Wednesday that the vital Kulangam bridge, which has been closed for repairs, will be reopened on November 16.
Speaking to reporters, Khan assured that the bridge's reopening would follow a thorough technical assessment to ensure its safety.
“The bridge has to cater to heavy traffic, and we want to ensure no risk to human lives or property,” Khan said, emphasizing the importance of a proper evaluation before the bridge is made operational.

The Tehsildar reiterated that the government has no interest in delaying the opening of the bridge but is prioritizing public safety. “Only after a successful trial run and final assessment will the bridge be opened to the public,” he added. (KNS)
