Srinagar, Jan 19 (KNS): A Kashmiri shawl seller from Kralpora Kupwara was mercilessly attacked by three miscreants in Kapurthala, Punjab. The victim, identified as Shafi Khoja, was brutally thrashed, punched, slapped, and dragged, leaving him with multiple bruises.
Along with the physical assault, his belongings were also looted, adding to the horror of the incident.
This brutal attack has sparked outrage and prompted swift action by the Jammu and Kashmir Students Association (JKSA).
Speaking on the matter, a spokesperson for the association said they have taken up the issue with the Punjab Government, highlighting the need for immediate justice.
“We have spoken to Punjab Chief Secretary KAP Sinha, who assured us that strict instructions have been issued to the Director General of Police (DGP) Punjab, Gaurav Yadav.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp ChannelThe DGP has been directed to identify the criminals involved and ensure that they face the consequences of their actions,” the spokesperson stated.
The association further emphasized the need for the safety and security of Kashmiri students and traders in Punjab, terming it their “utmost priority.” They called for swift justice to deter such incidents in the future and ensure a safe environment for Kashmiri residents working and studying in other states.
Meanwhile, the Punjab Police have begun investigations into the case. Authorities have assured that no stone will be left unturned in bringing the culprits to justice. (KNS)
