Labourer died during timber extraction in Bandipora

Bandipora, Oct 22 (KNS): A 36-year-old labourer died in the Kudara area of North Kashmir's Bandipora district while extracting forest timber on Tuesday.
 
Official sources, while confirming the incident to KNS, said that Shabir Ahmad Kalas Son of Khan Mohammad a resident of Arin Dardpora died on the spot during a forest timber extraction in the upper kudara area of Bandipora while loading timber logs.
 
He also said that the body was carried to District Hospital Bandipora soon after the incident while after completing legal formalities the body was handed over to his family for the last rites.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel
 
Local labourers who were on the spot while speaking with the media that the labourer slipped from a forest vehicle during timber extraction of the forest department in compartment 120 in the Kudura area of Bandipora district.
 
He also said that the deceased has a family of seven members and said he was the only source of income for his family.
 
The family members appealed to the district administration Bandipora for the compensation. (KNS)
