Lakshay Sharma, IPS, Relieved from J&K UT, Returns to Parent Cadre

Srinagar, Sep 22 (KNS):The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has relieved Lakshay Sharma from his deputation in the Union Territory (UT) of J&K.

The order, issued under Government Order No. 435-Home of 2024, states that Sharma’s tenure has come to an end, and he is now repatriated to his parent cadre. The approval for his return was granted by the Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission of India. Effective from September 22, 2024, Sharma is to hand over charge to the senior-most police officer in his district until a new Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) is appointed.Click Here To Follow Our WhatsApp Channel

The Home Department’s order was signed by Principal Secretary Chandraker Bharti and circulated to key officials, including the Director General of Police, J&K, and the Principal Secretary to the Lieutenant Governor. The Election Commission of India and the Ministry of Home Affairs were also notified of the development. (KNS)
