Pattan 23 July (KNS):Residents of different villages of pattan area of North Kashmirs baramulla district including Hanjiwera khasipora Khore Sherabad, nowlori etc all residing along Hanjiwera to Magam Link Road are demanding immediate Macadamization to their historical link road, which has been labeled the worst road in Kashmir by locals.

As per Kashmir News Service KNS The road, which connects the important districts of Baramulla and Budgam and leads to the famous tourist destination Gulmarg, has not been maintained for seven years.

According to Kashmir News Service (KNS), the road is in a dreadful condition with large potholes and deep ditches, causing severe problems for the community. One resident told KNS that if the government does not begin Macadamization within weeks, villagers from Hanjiwera to Magam will block the national highway and start a massive protest. They blame the negligence of the PMGSY department for the road's deterioration.

However when contacted by KNS, the Executive Engineer of PMGSY Baramulla stated that all necessary documents and plans have been submitted to higher authorities. Meanwhile The Chief Engineer of PMGSY confirmed KNS that they are waiting for approval.

It's pertinent mention that District Magistrate Baramulla, Minga Sherpa IAS, acknowledged the poor condition of the road in an interview with KNS and promised to address the issue with the relevant authorities very soon.(KNS)
