Locals voluntarily started donations to repair decade old bridge in Budgam

Budgam April 28 (KNS): After collecting funds locally, the residents of Khomeini Chowk and Narkara Haiderpura of district Budgam on Sunday said that they initiated the work to repair the bridge voluntarily after the bridge suffered partial damages.

According to KNS, the decades old steel bridge connecting Khomeini Chowk and Narkara Haiderpora of district Budgam has suffered damages in its flooring, posing threat to life and property.

Despite repeated representations by locals to concerned administration, the damaged bridge is yet to receive any attention for its repairment, locals allged.

Talking to media, locals said that by collecting funds locally they have stated the repairment of bridge voluntarily to avoid any eventuality.

The decades old bridge is carving for repairment in its flooring and causing serious inconvenience to people, due to which we have approached the concerned administration many times.

However this year the Road and Building construction department issued its tendering, but they are yet to initiate the work, the reason behind this is best known to them.

The bridge is posing serious threat to human life, result of that we have started collecting funds to repair the ridge, and it is the administration that can fully repair the bridge, he said.

The locals urged administration to complete the paper work and start the work over bridge at the earlies.
