Srinagar, Feb 08 (KNS): A devastating fire broke out in Sonamarg’s main market on Saturday evening, causing extensive damage to commercial establishments.
According to Fire and Emergency Services officials, the blaze severely damaged over 20 shops on the upper floor, while at least 10 shops on the lower floor sustained partial damage.
"We are making every effort to bring the fire under control. The operation is still ongoing, and a complete assessment of property damage will be available once it concludes," an F&ES official stated.
The exact cause of the fire remains unknown, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine its origin. (KNS)
