Srinagar, April 30 (KNS): Mirwaiz Kashmir Moulvi Muhammad Umar Farooq, voiced deep concern regarding the flood situation prompted by relentless, fierce rains affecting the northern, southern regions of Kashmir, and the wider Chenab area. He has called on people to hold special prayers across mosques, dargahs, khanqahs, shrines, and imambarahs, seeking divine intervention from Almighty Allah to safeguard against natural calamities.
As per the statement issued here, Mirwaiz lamented the tragic loss of lives and property, including the demise of five tourists and the reported disappearance of numerous individuals in the Gagangeer area of Sonamarg, and a child's drowning in Sopore.

In these challenging times, Dr. Farooq emphasized the critical need for community solidarity, particularly urging the affluent to step forward and assist in the rehabilitation efforts for those affected.
He extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the families who have suffered from these tragic events, affirming that the Kashmiri community profoundly shares the sorrow of the bereaved families.(KNS)
