Kupwara, May 24 (KNS): In an effort towards strengthening vocational education, PM SHRI Government Boys Higher Secondary School (BHSS) Sanzipora hosted a highly impactful Career Guidance and Vocational Awareness Programme under the centrally sponsored PM SHRI (PM Schools for Rising India) scheme. The event focused on empowering students through informed career choices and promoting skill-based learning in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The event witnessed the gracious presence of several distinguished guests, including MLA Langate, Haji Khurshid Ahmad Shiekh ; Mohammad Iqbal Shah , DEPO Kupwara; Mohammad Ashraf Bhat , HOD DIET Kupwara; Kifayat Ullah Shah , Principal BHSS Qalamabad & Incharge ZEO Mawer; Mohammad Rafiq Mir , Principal BHSS Waisa; Mohammad Iqbal Bhat , Academic Officer, DIET Kupwara; and SMDC members of PM SHRI BHSS Sanzipora.
A major highlight of the day was a vocational exhibition by students of Automotive and Agriculture trades, who presented working models and tools used in their vocational labs. At the Automotive Stall, guided by Engineer Hilal Ahmad Shah, students displayed mechanical systems, diagnostic tools, and real vehicle components, showcasing their practical skills and technical knowledge. The live demonstrations left a strong impression on the guests, who commended the students’ professionalism, clarity of thought, and confidence in explaining the real-world applications of their work. The exhibits served as a compelling illustration of the value vocational training brings to education.
Recognizing the school’s commendable efforts and dynamic implementation of skill education, MLA Haji Khurshid Ahmad announced a financial grant of ?2 lakh for the development and strengthening of the school’s vocational laboratories. This support is expected to bolster infrastructure and provide enhanced resources for hands-on learning.
The programme also included interactive career talks, personalized counseling sessions, and motivational addresses. Dignitaries lauded the school’s leadership, especially Principal Mr. Haji Mohammad Shafi Wani, the dedicated faculty, and vocational instructors for their unwavering commitment to student growth and development.
